The Qiskit Hackathon@World of Quantum is the Qiskit event happening in person in Germany hosted by the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR), IBM Quantum's Community Team and World of Quantum.
The Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) funds research and innovation in quantum technologies and supports the development of a quantum ecosystem in Germany and Europe. With measures such as the Quantum Futur Programme, the BMFTR contributes to the promotion of young scientists and other education and outreach activities.

This hackathon brings together the World of Quantum community for an immersive competition featuring live engagement, teamwork, and mentorship by Qiskit researchers, developers and advocates.
Join us on June 12, 2025, from 16:00 to 18:00 for an engaging online session that will introduce you to the fundamentals of quantum computing using Qiskit.
This Pre-Event is the perfect opportunity to get familiar with key concepts and tools before the main Hackathon begins.
Participants will receive the meeting link via email.
Then join us in person for the Qiskit Hackathon to put your skills to the test, connect with fellow enthusiasts, and explore the world of quantum computing together!
The Hackathon will take place on June 24–25, 2025, in a dedicated space in Hall A1 at World of Quantum.
It’s your chance to collaborate, learn, and challenge yourself in a vibrant community of quantum computing innovators.
The hackathon is open to everyone, therefore don't worry about your background or your knowledge of quantum computing, just sign up and join us!
We have designed an event for everyone, so that experts as well as beginners can participate and learn about Qiskit and quantum computing in a fun and engaging way.
While this event does not exclude anyone, a familiarity with python, Qiskit and quantum computing would help you in this competition.
Qiskit is the world’s most popular software stack for quantum computing. Build circuits, leverage Qiskit functions, transpile with AI tools, and execute workloads in an optimized runtime environment. To learn more about (and believe us, there is much more!) here is a link you can start: Qiskit
