Knowledge sharing and international networking are essential for further developing the quantum industry. That is why World of Quantum relies on an extensive supporting program to accompany the world’s largest trade fair for quantum technology (June 24 to 27, 2025 in Munich). In addition to the exhibition area, visitors can expect expert lectures, a special show, pitches, and young talent initiatives.
At the World of Quantum Forum, experts will talk about the latest developments in the field of quantum technology as well as challenges and practical solutions. Highlights include a lecture by Dr. Amal Kasry from UNESCO on the International Year of Quantum, and a top-class QUTAC panel on quantum computing in industry. The application panels will focus on quantum computing, quantum simulation, imaging & sensing, enabling technologies, education & careers, quantum communication, and politics & governance. The Insights Forum will focus on application examples, with exhibitors presenting their innovations in 20-minute slots.
Stamina is key at the Qiskit Hackathon, which brings the international community together in an exciting live competition. Supported by mentors, the teams have 24 hours to develop practical applications in the field of quantum computing using the open source software Qiskit. The winning team is then chosen by an expert jury. Dr. Fabian Mehring, Bavaria’s State Minister for Digital Affairs, is expected at the award ceremony. The hackathon is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (BMFTR) and IBM.
On the Quantum Future Boulevard, visitors can experience how far advanced complex quantum technology already is and where it is already being used in everyday life. The special show features vivid exhibits and invites visitors to share with experts. The exhibits include, for example, a quantum-based magnetometer for medical measurements and a “quantum box” that demonstrates the principle of data encryption using quantum technology.
At the Founders Fight Night, up-and-coming startups compete against each other with their ideas in front of an expert jury. In this interactive pitch competition, the audience is also allowed to help decide the winners. It gives young companies a platform to present themselves to potential investors and partners and make contacts.
In cooperation with the British specialist publisher Europa Science, the Innovation Award will be presented at Laser World of Photonics, being held in parallel. Outstanding innovations in the field of quantum technology are also honored in one of the categories.
The World of Quantum career program is aimed at students and young professionals. It includes a job board, career advice, an exclusive guided tour, and a panel on career prospects in the quantum industry.
