“Quantum Technologies: Education & Career” session at World of Quantum 2025
The field of quantum technology is growing very rapidly and with it the industry demand for quantum experts. Different profiles are needed and in addition to a fundamental understanding of physics and quantum effects, knowledge of engineering, computer science and other disciplines are essential to successfully develop new products and applications. As a result, new tailored degree programs at the intersection of these disciplines have been launched at many universities around the world. Companies are also interested in overcoming the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills set and therefore are heavily investing in providing educational opportunities and other resources. Other initiatives targeting training programs ranging from professionals to high school students, and many more. To increase the awareness among the general public and reduce possible misconceptions, broad public outreach programs are growing alongside the other developments.
